Who This Is For

Hey, my name is Quan, founder of Shortcut Lifestyle.

For the person reading this, this brand is for you if you are driven, loves self-development, and wants to better yourself.

Hard work is a great thing to strive to do.

Discipline and resilience come to my mind as valuable traits, and they live within the brand.

Like you know, achieving big goals usually requires a high performance mindset—one that is resilient and gritty, and not afraid to take on challenges.

This exact mindset probably has been influential in your success so far, professionally and personally.

So I don’t think it’s a matter of your mindset when it comes to fitness and nutrition.

Why Most Fitness Advice Doesn’t Work for You

In fact, looking at it analytically, I think it’s the common, untailored fitness and nutrition advice that is online (not to point any fingers).

“Work out 5-6 times a week for an hour.”

“Track every bite you eat.”

“Just do more cardio.”

While most people saying these things mean well,

They don’t consider how your everyday life is.

The Truth About Results and Real Life

If you were younger maybe 10-15 years ago, you could dedicate a lot of time to your fitness goals.

Spend 60-90 minutes per workout, talk in the gym, and spend time tracking macros.

But now you objectively have more responsibilities involving your role as a husband, father, and business owner.

You have more duties, but there’s still 24 hours in the day.

And something tells me it’s not that you haven’t been working hard, in fact, it actually feels like you’ve been working even harder.

You make sure to put in the effort to get the 5:30am workout done, before the day kicks in and family needs you.

No matter how tired you are or how much sleep you get, 5AM wakeup into a workout is a non-negotiable.

And these are great workouts too with blood (hopefully not), sweat (literally), and tears (I hope not).

But what gives?

There’s little to no results.

“Do I just need to work harder?”

“Do I have what it takes?”

What Shortcut Lifestyle Is Really About

Shortcut Lifestyle is about creating fitness and nutrition habits for your lifestyle.

And once you easily get the hang of things, compared to other approaches, you’ll really feel like it’s truly a shortcut for your life.

You’ll finally get the results you want, and the best part is they’ll last too because the methods last.

But there’s no magic or ‘shortcut pill’ hidden deep in the methods.

It’s about strategically hand-picking science-backed habits and routines that support fat loss, building muscle, feeling more energized, and increasing longevity, so people like you can see the benefits that great fitness and nutrition give in all aspects of life.

Your next breakthrough might be on the other side.

What Shortcut Lifestyle isn’t about is rigid programs that don’t work with a high performer’s life.

While these may work for a ‘gym bro’ (that’s great if that’s you), a busy high performer’s life looks different because they have different priorities.

It’s one story to have a lot of time to be in shape.

It’s a different story to be in shape while juggling responsibilities.

Like you know in this stage of life, schedules can be unpredictable sometimes and that’s frustrating (I feel it, I’m the Logistician on the Myer Briggs personality test).

Despite your best efforts, there are some things that happen outside of planning and scheduling.

A team meeting goes over, you have to stay longer for a client, or your kid gets sick.

These are all frustrating things since they tend to change your nicely planned Google Calendar.

I can relate when things don’t go my way.

Thankfully, Shortcut Lifestyle was built with flexibility in mind.

In the past, I used to think this meant giving 50% or being lazy.

But now, I believe it’s smart since flexibility is one of the things that give us long-term success in fitness and nutrition.

For example, Shortcut Lifestyle has Adaptable Workouts.

What it looks on the other side is I may prescribe to you 3 workouts per week.

You take the time to schedule them for next week and then life happens.

With traditional programs, this can throw a wrench in the plans.

But Adaptable Workouts has flexibility to give you the option to workout on a different day for when those unexpected business fires happen.

There’s no “You have to workout on this day.”

Just a fitness routine. Based on your real life.

My Story

Personally, during my days as a Bodybuilding.com ambassador, I used MyFitnessPal.

While I felt the high of accomplishing my daily P/C/F goal to a tee (almost 🙂), the feeling was short-lived and I felt like each day was a battle I had to fight.

I LOVE challenges.

But after a while, I questioned “is this really it?”

“Maybe I’m being soft or I’m not working hard enough.”

It took awhile but thanks to God, I finally concluded that sustainable fitness and nutrition doesn’t look like what I’m experiencing despite what mainstream advice was telling me.

I took the leap into a new fitness and philosophy.

One that is embedded at the core of Shortcut Lifestyle.

Why It Needs to Feel Effortless (Eventually)

You’ve probably heard of the phrase that working out should be as easy as brushing your teeth.

Not exactlllllly but your routines shouldn’t require the same level of willpower it takes to do a cold shower in the middle of December.

The process of working out and eating nutrient-dense foods should feel automatic with little resistance.

That’s how losing weight is sustainable.

The Real Problem With Most Programs

If a 90-day program is strict and rigid and we follow it to a tee, we’re definitely going to see results just like most programs.

But what happens after those programs typically?

People tend to give their best effort to maintain the habits and structure they learn within the program even after they finish it.

Some maintain the routines for a couple months.

And some people go really far into the ‘few months’ range.

Sadly, statistics show that 80-95% of people regain the weight they lost (sometimes more) within 5 years.

My hunch from seeing the data, is methods taught in conventional programs are for the short term (hence the term ‘90-day programs’).

So if we try to use these methods for the long run,

I have a feeling that won’t go over so well.

A Better Way Forward

The classic saying goes:

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

It’s a powerful concept seen in the business world like you know,

But it can also be applied to fitness too.

Sometimes we need to try new things to get the results we want.

I encourage you to do that today.
